After the thrill and shock wore off came the inevitable question,\u00a0What\u00a0will I cook? It can be made with any fruit but is best with at least two kinds, one firm and one juicy. In the kitchen of Julia Child\u2019s imposing Cambridge clapboard house (where the show was shot) Leslie used raspberries and figs. The crostata came out perfectly, and Julia Child loved it.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201cThat experience is one of the greatest memories of my life,\u201d Leslie says. \u201cAll of the humor and wit and personal connection that you see from Julia Child on the show came across even more between takes. Look for Leslie\u2019s favorite, the nectarine blueberry, or the runner up, nectarine raspberry, to make frequent appearances.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">We make the buttery crust with a sesame almond dough. Hints of lemon zest and cinnamon add complexity to the fruit, and it gets a long, slow bake, which caramelizes the fruit sugars making it luscious and\u00a0jammy\u00a0at the edges.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">In classic Macrina style, the crostata isn\u2019t overly sweet.
